BEAVERCREEK, Ohio -- Meg Mallon was about to win the Star Bank LPGA Classic and didn't even know it.
As Wilton native Dottie Pepper was preparing to sink a 5-foot putt that would send the tournament at the Country Club of the North into its second sudden-death hole, Mallon was seeking advice from her caddie.
But Pepper missed the putt, giving Mallon the victory.
A jubilant Mallon tossed her ball into the gallery and gave Pepper a hug.
