Vic: Whaling ship is disaster waiting to happen, says activist

MELBOURNE, Feb AAP - Captain Paul Watson knows he cannot claim credit for the event
that may have prematurely ended Japan's seasonal whaling operations in Antarctica.

The environmental activist and Sea Shepherd boat skipper says he is happy that several
hundred of the mammals have, for the time being, been spared because of a huge fire last
week which crippled the Japanese whaling fleet's factory ship, the Nisshin Maru.
