Qld: Cases adjourned as prisoners strip-searched

Five prisoners facing sentencing in Brisbane have been taken out of court rooms to
be strip-searched in their holding cells .. during a security incident today.

It happened after authorities discovered an 18-centimetre piece of metal missing from
a prisoner transport van.

Four men were being sentenced on drug charges .. while the other was being sentenced
in a separate court room for murder in the Supreme Court in Brisbane.

Their cases were suddenly adjourned and the prisoners removed to their holding cells
about 11 o'clock (AEST) this morning for the search.

Corrective Services officers haven't confirmed if the item's been recovered.
