ACT: Canberra woman pleads not guilty to stabbing murder
CANBERRA, Aug 15 AAP - A Canberra woman has pleaded not guilty to killing another woman
outside a busy suburban shopping centre last month.
Rebecca Anne Massey, 35, has been charged with the stabbing murder of 43-year-old Elizabeth
Anne Booshand.
Police allege the attack occurred after a fight erupted between the two women outside
a Charnwood takeaway shop, in Canberra's north, on July 25.
Seven stab wounds pierced Booshand's chest, heart and a lung and she died shortly after
arriving at Canberra Hospital.
Massey fled the scene and later called police to say she had been involved in a fight
with a woman but did not stab her, it has been alleged.
Massey entered a plea of not guilty in the ACT Magistrates Court today.
She was refused bail and will remain in custody until her hearing on October 2.
